the entire section verse refers to. Faith comes and grows from what
we hear, we have good opportunities fpr hearing the Word today, we
did not have those opportunities before the internet but be careful
what you hear and see not everything is from God and Jesus.

If you
want God's Word to be a light for your foot and life you only have
one way Jesus who is the Word who became flesh and took up residence
in you. Where is Jesus now. He is with God the Father sitting at the
right hand of the Father. Where is the word now?
It is
written to you by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit the Bible dear
friend.
If we want to live in the Word we must hear the
Word read / hear God's Word the Bible - We can quickly be filled with
all sorts of other words, thoughts from outside greatly affect what
we see and hear. The Bible is God's word today.
ISAIAH
8-20 " NO! TO THE DOCTRINE AND THE TESTIMONY!
May God send
us a revival of the word, we need it. We must return to the
"doctrine" of God's word. Return to the word of truth of
the Scriptures.
ACTS OF THE APOSTLES .2 41-42 " THEY
WHO RECEIVED HIS WORD WERE BAPTIZED, AND ON THAT DAY ABOUT THREE
THOUSAND SOULS WERE ADDED.
AND THEY DEVOTED TO THE APOSTLES'
DOCTRINE AND TO THE FELLOWSHIP, TO THE BREAKING OF BREAD, AND TO THE
PRAYERS. "
That was something the early Christians held on
to.
They did not have the New Testament that we have today
thanks to those who wrote it for us.
Here was revival, and
all the newly saved were taken under expert
treatment/education.
They immediately received thorough
baptismal instruction and were baptized.
Then they started
teaching the apostles' doctrine.
Of course, the doctrine
that the apostles had received from Jesus.
They were not
left to themselves and their own thoughts about what had now happened
to them.
There was much they now had to deal with.

PETER.3 1-2 " THIS IS NOW, BELIEVED! THE SECOND EPISTLE I
WRITTEN TO YOU AND IN BOTH OF THEM I SEEK TO AWAKEN YOUR PURE MIND BY
MY REMINDER, SO THAT YOU MAY REMEMBER THE WORDS WHICH WERE FOREWORDED
BY THE HOLY PROPHETS, AS WELL AS THE COMMANDMENT GIVEN TO YOU BY THE
APOSTLES OF THE LORD AND SAVIOR."

what Peter has in mind about the doctrine.
Peter had in mind to
remind them of the things they had been taught by their apostles,
namely, the doctrine of the apostles.
Ephesians.4 3-6 "
AND STRIVE TO PRESERVE THE UNITY OF THE SPIRIT IN THE BONDS OF PEACE:
ONE BODY AND ONE SPIRIT, JUST AS YOU ALSO WERE CALLED IN ONE HOPE OF
YOUR CALLING,
ONE GOD AND FATHER OF ALL, WHO IS ABOVE ALL,
AND THROUGH ALL, AND IN YOU ALL! "
We see here that
people did not believe in just anything, they had a clear teaching.
There was unity in the Spirit about what they believed.
The
teaching was clear, they did not each have their own
understanding.
The apostles' teaching set limits on what they
could believe.
There was no such thing as:
The Spirit
has said to me, if what the Spirit had said did not agree with the
apostles' teaching, then it was not the Holy Spirit who had said it,
but a false spirit.
JOHN. 16 8-11 " AND WHEN HE (the
Holy Spirit) IS COMING, HE WILL CONVINCE THE WORLD OF SIN AND OF
RIGHTEOUSNESS AND OF JUDGMENT.
ABOUT SIN: THAT THEY DO NOT
BELIEVE IN ME,
ABOUT RIGHTEOUSNESS: THAT I GO TO THE FATHER, AND
YOU SEE ME NO LONGER,
ABOUT JUDGMENT: THAT THE PRINCE OF THIS
WORLD IS JUDGED."
The apostles' teaching included
that the congregation was thoroughly taught about these things, so
that they could answer for themselves when they talked to outsiders
and when they talked among themselves, they encouraged each other in
the apostles' teaching.
ACTS OF THE APOSTLES .1-8 "
BUT YOU SHALL RECEIVE POWER WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT COMES UPON YOU; AND
YOU SHALL BE MY WITNESSES BOTH IN JERUSALEM AND IN ALL JUDEA AND
SAMARIA, YET, TO THE END OF THE EARTH."
This also
belonged to the apostles' teaching and this teaching was not just
theory, but was put into practice. They were to be witnesses, the
word witnesses can also be translated as martyrs.
So they
were to be willing to suffer for their faith.
ACTS OF THE
APOSTLES .4 1-4 " WHILE THEY WERE SPEAKING TO THE PEOPLE, THE
PRIESTS AND THE CHIEF OF THE TEMPLE GUARD AND THE SADDUCEES CAME UP
ON THEM, AND ATTACKED THEM, THAT THEY TEACHED THE PEOPLE
(they
taught, that is, they taught) AND PREACHED IN JESUS THE RESURRECTION
FROM THE DEAD.
AND THEY LAID THEIR HANDS ON THEM, AND
DEPUTYD THEM UNTIL THE NEXT DAY, FOR IT WAS ALREADY EVENING.
BUT
MANY OF THOSE WHO HEARED THE WORD BELIEVED, AND THE NUMBER OF THE MEN
REACHED ABOUT FIVE THOUSAND."
What they "taught"
the people was the teaching of the apostles:
"AND IN JESUS
THE RESURRECTION WAS PREACHED FROM THE DEAD."
Are we
witnesses, preaching and teaching the people, our friends and
neighbors, that we believe in the resurrection of the dead?
Do
we say: There is no death?
THAT IS THE TEACHING OF THE
APOSTLES!
We have something to say to the world.

THESSALONIANS. 4 13-15 " WE DO NOT WANT YOU TO BE UNINFORMED,
BRETHREN, ABOUT THOSE WHO ARE SLEEPING, SO THAT YOU WILL NOT SORROW
AS THE OTHERS WHO HAVE NO HOPE.
FOR IF WE BELIEVE THAT
JESUS DID AND RESURRECTED, SO THROUGH JESUS THEM WHICH HAVE SLEEPED
WILL GOD ALSO BRING WITH HIM.
FOR THIS WE SAY TO YOU BY THE WORD
OF THE LORD, THAT WE WHO ARE ALIVE AND REMAIN UNTIL THE COMING OF THE
LORD SHALL NOT PRECEDE THEM WHICH HAVE SLEEPED."

This was also taught to the church
by their apostles, it was part of the apostles' teaching. I could go
on teaching about the apostles' teaching, we must not be ignorant,
writes the apostle Paul here.
When Isaiah says: TO THE DOCTRINE
AND THE TESTIMONY:
So now I have shown you what the teaching is,
but what is the testimony?
The testimony is to testify about and
proclaim the teaching.
Not just our own testimony about our
experiences with God.
It is a minor thing compared to the
testimony about the apostles' teaching.
WE MUST HAVE A REVIVAL
OF THE WORD SO THAT WE CAN BRING THE TESTIMONY OUT TO THE LOST.
The
testimony is our insight into the word of God, which we bring
forward.
2 TIMOTHY .3-16 " ALL SCRIPTURE IS
BENEFICIAL FOR DOCTRINE, FOR REPRODUCTION, FOR REBUILDING, FOR
DISCIPLINING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, "
2 TIMOTHY. 4-2 "
PREACH THE WORD, BE INTENDED IN TIMES, BE CURIOUS, BE REPENTANT, BE
EXCUSED, WITH ALL PATIENCE AND DOCTRINE."
You must
know something in order to bring something that is in accordance with
the teaching of the apostles. Ignorance is of no use here.
The
Holy Spirit confirms the word of God, not our own words.
We must
agree among ourselves on what the teaching of the apostles
is.
THEREFORE THERE MUST BE TEACHING!
God give us a revival
of the word.

It is sad, what I now feel I must
add:
Jehovah's Witnesses go from door to door and testify from
the Bible what they believe and can defend their faith against
people's questions with biblical scriptures.
Christians
cannot do that because of lack of teaching about the apostles'
doctrine.
