when you read/hear the sermons, test yourself just like in the mirror in Jacob's letter/James.
Is your life like that?
Have you really forgiven so that it is completely forgotten?
Or do you only forgive on the outside but on the inside you remember very well what they said, did and what once happened?
Maybe you say. So-and-so has lived like this, we must still be aware of these and those tendencies in that person, that person could go and do it again etc. Then you are NOT living in the spirit of God's forgiveness, then you judge others who are forgiven without reason . You have no right to year after year remember the offenses of others or the mistakes of others, then you live in your own self-righteousness, which you have adapted to the spirit of this world's age, you do not trust your brothers and sisters in Jesus, your love is lukewarm religious like the scribes the love of the Pharisees.
Do you live in the principles of forgiveness or not, judge/test yourself.
God's word says this is how you learn it.
Scripture: Matthew 6:12-15, Matthew 18:21-35 Mark 11:25-26, Luke 17:1-5
The principles of forgiveness (The Law of Forgiveness) briefly explained:
We must forgive others first before we can be forgiven.
Many live with a constant guilty conscience because. They have not forgiven others and much less themselves, they are not the free Christians in the life of the Spirit of Jesus' life of freedom.
We receive the same forgiveness that we forgive others with.
If we forgive other people their sins against us, we are forgiven for our sins.
If we refuse to forgive other people for their sins against us, we will not be forgiven for our sins.
Jesus explains the principles of forgiveness in Matthew 6:12-15
Jesus says we must ask for forgiveness for our sins (1 Forgive us where we have failed),
Jesus says that we must ask to be forgiven in the same way as we forgive others who have sinned against us (2 just as we ourselves have forgiven those who have failed us).
Jesus asks us to be careful not to succumb to Satan's temptations, ((in the context of forgiveness, refusing to forgive others, author's addition)). (3 Let us not yield to temptation, but deliver us from the attack of the evil one)
Jesus says that if we forgive other people, their sins against us, then God, our Father in Heaven will also forgive us our sins (4 If you forgive those who have done wrong to you, your Father in Heaven will also forgive you)
Jesus says that if we refuse to forgive other people, their sins against us, then God, our Father in Heaven will also refuse to forgive us our sins (5 But if you refuse to forgive, he will not forgive you either)
In Matthew 18:21-35, Jesus explains the necessity of forgiveness
Here is a brief summary of the parable.
1 Jesus explains the consequence of refusing to forgive. He tells of a man who owed the King and asked the King to forgive his debt. The king forgave him all his debts and let him go.
2 Just after the man had had his debt forgiven by the King, the man encountered a colleague who owed him a little, but he would not forgive the debt/sin that the colleague had committed against him, even though he himself had has been forgiven all his debt/sin with the King.
3. The king then called the man in again and said to him‚ You wicked scoundrel, Here I forgave you all your debt—and that just because you asked me to. Shouldn't you have done the same?
4. Then the King ordered his jailers/executioners to put him in prison until the debt was paid.
When Jesus has finished telling the story/parable, Jesus makes three specific statements about the consequence of unforgiveness in verse 35
1 This is how my heavenly Father will also do with you
2 if you don't forgive each other. (3 with all your heart," Jesus concludes.
This is again about whether we obey Jesus' command. His new commandment the commandment of love, do you?
You hurt, destroy other people with your coldness and unforgiveness, you will stand before Jesus to account for each and every person you have destroyed, hurt, this also applies to your slander, gossip then you think evil in your heart and speak evil behind others' back, but you are coward enough not to talk to the people you gossip about what you go and say, shame on you turn around and come into the life and Spirit of forgiveness.
Forgiveness in connection with prayer:
In Mark 11:25-26, Jesus says that before we begin to pray, we must forgive those we hold grudges against. (1 But before you begin to pray, forgive those against whom you have anything,
Jesus says that we must forgive so that God can forgive us (2 so that your Father in Heaven can also forgive you the sins you have committed.
Jesus says that if we do not forgive, neither will we be forgiven (3 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your sins."
Forgiveness requires faith:
Luke 17:1-6
In this section, Jesus warns against being the cause of others losing faith and asks us to be careful how we live.
About losing faith and about forgiving One day saidJesus to his disciples: "It cannot be avoided that some fall from the faith. But woe to those who are guilty of causing others to fall away. It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone around their neck than to cause one of the weak in the faith to fall away. Therefore, be careful how you live!
Subsequently, Jesus says the following:
If your friend sins against you, confront him about it.
If he listens to you and asks for forgiveness, forgive him.
Even if he sins seven times a day, you must forgive him
insofar as he repents and asks for forgiveness.”
When Jesus said this, the apostles realize that it takes faith to forgive. (1 The apostles now said to Jesus: "Give us more faith!")
Jesus says with them that if they had faith as a grain of mustard seed, they could say to the mulberry fig tree (in this case the unforgiveness) that it should uproot itself and plant itself, take root somewhere else and that it would obey you. (Note Jesus explains the mustard seed growth principles of God's kingdom in Mark 4:30-32)
(2 Jesus answered: "If your faith were but as a grain of mustard seed, you could say to the mulberry fig tree here: 'Be lifted up and take root in the sea!' And it would obey you.

On the necessity of forgiveness
You cannot forgive so that it is forgotten without you yourself being forgiven is inside Jesus by the Holy Spirit inside you, the one who forgives on your behalf when you say yes, I forgive, who knows you avoid bitter root begins to shoot up
21 "Lord, how many times shall I forgive someone who sins against me?" Peter asked. "Is seven times enough?" 22 "No," answered Jesus, "let it be 77 times! [a] 23 For with the kingdom of God it is like with a king who asked his officials to give an account. 24 The first owed him a sum of millions. [b] 25 When he could not pay his debt, the king gave orders that everything he owned should be seized and that he himself, his wife and his children should be sold as slaves. 26 The man fell on his knees before the king and begged: 'Be patient with me, and I will pay it all back!' 27 Then the king felt sorry for him, forgave him all his debts and let him go.
28 Outside, the official encountered a colleague who owed him a few thousand. [c] ‚Pay what you owe me!' he hissed and grabbed him by the throat. 29 The colleague fell on his knees before him. 'Be patient with me,' he pleaded, 'then I will pay!' 30 But he would not hear of that. On the contrary, he had the colleague arrested and thrown into prison, where he was to remain until the entire debt was paid.
31 The other colleagues were very sad when they saw what was happening. They went straightks to the king and made a report. 32 The king then called the official in again. 'You wicked scoundrel,' said the king. ‚Here I forgave you all your debt—and that just because you asked me to. 33 Shouldn't you show some compassion to others?' 34 Then the angry king ordered his jailers to put him in prison until the debt was paid.
35 This is how my heavenly Father will also do to you if you do not forgive one another with all your heart," Jesus concluded.
Matthew 18:21-35
21 Then Peter stepped forward and said to him: "Lord! how often shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? perhaps up to seven times?" 22 Jesus says to him: "I tell you: not until seven times, but until seventy times seven times. 23 Therefore the kingdom of heaven is likened to a king who wanted to keep an account of his servants. 24 But when he began to keep an account, one who owed ten thousand talents was brought before him. 25 And when he had nothing to pay with, his master commanded that he and his wife and children and all that he had should be sold, and the debt paid. 26 Then the servant fell down before him, begged him and said: Lord, be patient with me, and I will pay you everything. 27 Then the same master of the servant had compassion on him and let him go and forgave him the debt. 28 But the same The servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii, and he laid hold of him and was about to strangle him, saying: Pay what you owe! 29 Then his fellow servant fell down before him and begged him and said, Be patient with me, and I will pay you.30 But he would not, but went and cast him into prison until he paid what he owed. 31 Now when his fellow servants saw what had happened, they were greatly grieved and came and explained to their Lord all that had happened. 32 Then his Lord calls him to himself and says to him: You wicked servant! all that debt I forgave thee because thou askedst me. 33 Shouldn't you also have compassion on your fellow servant, just as I have compassion on you. 34 And his master was wroth, and handed him over to the executioners, until he could be paid all that he owed him. 35 So will my heavenly Father also do to you, if you do not forgive from your heart, every one his brother."
Mark 11:25-26
25 But before you begin to pray, you must forgive those you have something against, so that your Father in Heaven can also forgive you the sins you have committed. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your sins.”[a]
Mark 11:25-26 This is the Bible in Danish
25 And when you stand and pray, then forgive if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven may also forgive you your transgressions. 26 But if ye forsake not, neither will your Father which is in heaven forsake your transgressions"
Luke 17:1-6
On losing faith and on forgiving 17 One day Jesus said to his disciples: "It cannot be avoided that some fall from the faith. But woe to those who are guilty of causing others to fall away. 2 It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone around their neck than to cause one of the weak in the faith to fall away. 3 Therefore be careful how you live!
If your friend[a] sins against you, confront him about it. If he listens to you and asks for forgiveness, forgive him. 4 Even if he sins seven times a day, you must forgive him, as long as he repents and asks for forgiveness.”
Luke 17:1-6
17 But he said to his disciples: "It is impossible that outrages should not come; but woe to him to whom they come! 2 It would be better for him if a millstone were placed around his neck and he were thrown into the sea than that he should offend one of these little ones. 3 Take heed to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him! 4 And if he sins against you seven times in the day, and returns seven times to you and says: I repent, then you must forgive him."
5 And the apostles said to the Lord: "Give us more faith!" 6 But the Lord said: "If you had faith as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry fig tree: Take root and plant yourself in the sea, and it would obey you.
In order for you to forgive, it is vital that you yourself are in the life of forgiveness and Spirit inside Jesus in the Holy Spirit, then the forgiveness of God's love that you yourself received runs through you
Do you believe in Jesus?
Yes, we you say yes, but why don't you believe Jesus' words and do as He commands?
You don't believe in Jesus if you don't also follow Him in the principles of forgiveness and life, it's that simple
You may ask yourself why?
Amen
