What is Evangelize?

Evangelize means to preach the gospel to everyone, and it can have a local, national, and global reach.

What is Evangelize not?

Evangelizing is not to preach political messages, church denominations messages,, people’s personal opinions messages, pro or anti messages and more..

What is the great commandment?

It’s the mandate to mission that Jesus gave us to carry out, and it consist of two points.

Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15

Note that Jesus said, go. This is not a suggestion. There are many complacent believers who do not want to go. However this is not a matter of wanting, but a command.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations. Matthew 28:19

Making disciples is another mandate given by Jesus to His church, and the way to carry it out is to first fulfill the mandate, of go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. After the people are saved, train them in all things related to the Kingdom so they can fulfill the purpose that God has for their lives. Essentially, Jesus told His disciple. Teach them how to be good witnesses of Mine, and equip them to do the same with others.

To summarize this, we can say the Great Commission is made up of two stages.

Evangelize the world

Disciple them who are saved

Jesus commissions and send us ( this are apostolic terms ) but with the commission, He gives us tools to complete the mission. The key word in all this is go, and when going, the signs will follow us.

Tools Jesus gave us to go, and what will happen on the way

Jesus gave us authority and the power

Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Luke 10:19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

In these two verses, we see that when Jesus resurrected, He received all the power in Heaven and Earth. Element He immediately gave to us, the believers

What is authority?

The word authority, come from the Greek word exusia, which means the delegated right to do what He sent us to do. It is the power we have as believers to do work in His name, to speak openly about the Gospel, to cast out demons and heal the sick in order to establish the Kingdom of God on Earth. You and I have the authority to do so.

Jesus gave us the message

Luke 24:46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,

1 Corinthians 1:23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,

1 Corinthians 2:2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

The message that Jesus gave us to carry out the Great commission is composed in two parts

The crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus

Our message is that He suffered death at the Cross to save us from our sins. He died and resurrected on the third day for our justification and redemption.

Repentance and forgiveness of sins

Luke 24:47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Mark 1:15 The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”

Most people preach a bread and fish Gospel. A comfortable Gospel that adjusts itself to the audience convenience but does not lead to repentance of sins.

In essence, what is the message Jesus is telling us to deliver?

We must tell unbelievers that they are sinners and have offended God.

That they need to repent from all their sins.

That they need to change their way to thinking.

That they need to change their way to behaving.

Moreover, this message of repentance should lead every person to a change of direction and action. Otherwise they are on their way to perdition

The only way for the conviction of the Holy Spirit to manifest in people's heart is to tell them that they are sinners

John 16:8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment:

If we do not speak to the word about their sin, the anointing to convict them will not manifest, and the will not be born again.

In conclusion the commission given by Jesus to the believers is to preach the crucifiction, death and resurrection of Christ, in addition to telling people to believe the gospel and repent from their sin. Amen.

Jesus gave us the power and the anointing

Act 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

The Lord entrusted us with a task and He also have given us the necessary tools to carry it out:

The Authority

The Message

The Power

The English word power is the Greek word dunamis, which means the ability to carry out what God has sent us to do. From it we derive the word dynamite. Is it not powerful how God enables us to bring His Gospel to every creature?

How do we receive the power and anointing?

The power and anointing that Jesus delegated comes when we receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Look for it now. Ask the Lord to fill you with His power and with the evident manifestation of speaking in other tongues.

What is the purpose of this power?

Act 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

The key word here is witnesses. We receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit to be witnesses of Jesus. A witness is someone who gives a personal testimony of an event he himself experienced or witnessed. A witness of Jesus is one who has direct evidence of His power.

Mark 16:17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;

What is a sign?

A sign is a mark or manifestation of God’s love and power. It is an audible or visible manifestation of something who causes wonder and amazement in those who witness it.

Whom will the signs follow?

Signs will follow those who believe. Unfortunately many Christian pastors and ministers do not believe in signs. Therefore signs do not follow them. These men and women are subjected to old traditions or patterns of logical thinking which reject the supernatural and deprive them of living a complete life in the Gospel.

For signs to follow, you only need to be a son or daughter of God, believe the Word, and have faith, for this is not for unbelievers.

What signs will follow the believers who preach the Gospel?

They will speak in new tongues

They will drive out demons

They will pick up snakes with their hands and not die

When they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all

They will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well
